Being a diehard romantic at heart, I’ve always looked forward to things that create special moments with my partner. Owing to this, I was very keen on getting a pre-wedding photoshoot in the heavenly peaks of Himachal. Earlier this year (i.e. a month before my marriage) my then-fiance (now husband) and I had begun planning out everything for this special shoot. But selecting the destination was a Herculean task as no place seemed to meet our expectations. Fortunately, my relentless search did bear fruit and I came across Chester Hills (Solan) which had both the picturesque spots and the amenities that ensured a comfortable sojourn.
The following week, we reached Chester Hills with the photography crew. Though the weather was cold-biting, I was astonished to see the beauty of this place – majestic villas wrapped in the blanket of luscious green hills. It was indeed a hub of comfort with spacious guest houses, gardens, a restaurant, shops, and so forth. Moreover, the Salon here relieved me of the additional costs and hassle of booking a makeup artist.
Soon we started with the shoot, our first spot being the beautiful Landscape Park. It is indeed a spectacular place with numerous innovative eco-art exhibits, serving as an appealing background. Next, we chose the serene Meditation Park that boasted a scenic pergola structure over a tiny pond with a fountain in the middle. The pictures we clicked here were absolutely alluring.
The next day, our fairy tale continued at the beautiful pathways within Chester Hills‘ vicinity; encircled by an exquisite variety of flowers, trees and bushes. These trails gave us the best candid snaps and behind-the-shoot fun moments. Next, we headed to the amazing Swimming Pool area where we placed several props creating a unique and refreshing setting. To experiment with the conventional couple photo shoot, we also added the sassiness of a sports theme and made use of the Table Tennis area. Initially, we were skeptical of this idea but surprisingly, it turned out to be quite amazing and we got some really cool photos.
We also visited some famous places of Solan like Centre Point in Upper Bazar, Virtual Reality Cafe, Jatoli Shiv Temple, etc. for the final day. Even though we wrapped up the shoot in two days, I couldn’t get enough of Chester Hills and wanted to explore it more. So after the photography team left, my fiance and I stayed for another day. We began this leisure time at the Games & Cardroom section which filled every moment with endless laughter and giggles. Then, I was so excited to see the Spa and Jacuzzi section and basked in its composed and luxurious vibe.
My fiance wanted to discover the Gold-class movie theater so we decided to get tickets for an evening show, and our day ended with a scrumptious dinner at the Multi-cuisine Dining Area. I can’t believe that six months have already passed, and now that we are married, I want to relive those beautiful moments and plan the trip to this magical place soon. That was my story of memorable times at Chester Hills. What’s yours?
