It has been about eight months since my husband and I purchased our little piece of paradise in the gorgeous Chester Hills (Solan). House hunting, finalizing the house, moving, personalizing the interiors were some of the highlighted moments from last year and this decision to move was one of the happiest memories we’ve shared as a couple.
It all started when we got married a year ago and moved into my husband’s parental home in Kangra. It was a great place to start our new life as a married couple, it was gratifying to have a happy family life and decorate our room as newlyweds. A couple months later we started to have conversations about starting a family and moving into a bigger place that we could call our own Eden. My inlaws were quite supportive and encouraged us to start a family in a blissful home of our own. So we started looking for options in Himachal so that we could stay grounded and close to our familial roots.
Hiring a realtor and looking for houses can be excruciating but we were determined and hopeful that we would find a house that would fit into our lives like a missing puzzle piece. We looked at a few options in different cities and traveled here and there but nothing felt right and in alignment with what we wanted as a couple. Finally, after being exhausted from searching and looking at quite a few options we came across Chester Hills in Kasauli. I prayed that hopefully it would be copacetic. We arrived at the destination without much expectations and immediately were taken aback by how different and well-crafted the residences were. Straight away we went to the residences. As soon as we entered the place, we squeezed hands and I screamed in my head “this is the one”. Plush interiors, exquisite views, meticulous attention to detail made the place seem spectacular. The light fixtures, flooring and furniture added to the homey aura of the place.
We dined at the Multi-Cuisine Dining Area and went on touring the property further, soon after I started imagining myself having a relaxing day at the Spa & Jacuzzi, the thought of that made me ecstatic. The Meditation Park felt so serene and calm with immense positive vibes flowing everywhere. Since my husband and I both played Tennis we stopped by the Tennis Court and played non stop for an hour. Those few moments felt so pleasurable and by the end of the day I felt the sense of security that Chester might be the place where I could see my family and myself thrive.
The process of acquiring a loan was also seamless because usually it is difficult for a small business owner to get a loan approved. Things like royalty income, past tax returns and fluctuating income can make the process tricky than it would be for someone with a traditional income. The support of our family and friends was really special during that time. The entire process felt like a dream and the day came when we arrived at our new home, we remember being so excited to use those new keys for the first time. The panoramic views of the mountains felt like a warm embrace. We spent a lot of our time redecorating the place and made it more personalized. The proximity to local markets made it super convenient for me to run errands whilst enjoying the relaxing views of the nearby regions.
I know how cheesy and dramatic this experience sounds, but we will never forget the entire process. We plan to document each and every aspect of our life here at Chester Hills and hopefully one day our family will grow and we will look back at all the amazing pots of memories we are filling. This was my Chester Hills story. What’s yours?
